The weather is getting cooler, leaves are changing colors, fall is in the air and it's the perfect time to sew something stylish to go with the change in seasons.
Simplicity 1320 is a pattern for a jacket with front and fabric variations. View A caught my eye with its asymmetrical collars and front. I have been de-stashing my fabric collection and saved my purple wool coating for this project.
The wool fabric was purchased years ago from Mood and if memory serves me right, it was a Marc Jacobs coating fabric. It features diagonal ribbing and since there was no stretch, it allowed me to position pattern pieces to achieve some interesting design. The print shown with the fabric above is a 100% silk twill which coordinated perfectly so I decided to use it for lining which I had to draft on my own as the pattern didn't include lining instructions. And I love how it turned out!
